Accession to the Throne - is a classic strategy game developed on a modern 3D-engine.
A wonderful combination of the hero's journey across the game-world in real time and tactical turn-based battles.
Large turn-based combats. Up to 22 squads can take part in a large-scale battle.
Original unit types like Pilgrims, Lepers, Colossuses, Assassins, etc., each one with its own special abilities, strong and weak points.
Each type of unit has additional combat characteristics (besides standard ones), which makes one unit type effective against the second, the second against the third and the third against the first one. This innovation creates a diversity of combat conduction leading to the most various results: from total defeat, to clean sweep (with the same armies). This determines the player not to use the "build a huge army and crush", but try to use the most effective and well planned tactics.
The game uses a concept of unity of the Hero and the player. Unlike other games of the same genre, the Hero of Accession to the Throne is not a hired character, but the alter-ego of the player. He takes part in combats personally, not just controlling troops. He may be killed just like any other army unit. In case if this happens, even if the rest of the army keeps a whole skin, the game would end.
The interface is simple and intelligible. The game world is maximized.
The player is not kept within bounds of separate missions. He can explore the game-world as much as he wants. The game-world is a whole and the player can roam it freely.
Interesting storyline. It is filled with treachery, vengeance and love. Besides, the game bears the idea that even when you are at the bottom of society, but have a good head on your shoulders, strong arms and a will of steel you can get it all: power, fame, authority and get to the top of the social hierarchy.
