Adaptation of J.G. Ballard's controversial experimental novel directed by Jonathan Weiss. A doctor in a mental research institution undergoes his own mental breakdown and surrenders to psychosis. Losing sense of reality, he relives the worst excesses of 20th-century technology, pornography, violence, sex and death and contemplates starting World War III.
