When the plane crashes and Greg is killed, Buddy is unable to shake his sense of guilt and decides to visit Greg's widow Abby (Gwyneth Paltrow). The pair begin dating, but it is not until another passenger arrives in town, offering to show Abby some video footage taken just before the crash, that she realises Buddy had once known her husband.
