Woodland Hills, Virginia, becomes a town wracked with fear after a series of mysterious disappearances. Penny Drake teams up with her estranged boyfriend Rob and a group of friends to investigate the maze-like local mines. The group are tested to the limit on their underground odyssey, and become aware that they are battling an ancient evil. The deeper they travel into its lair, the more apparent it becomes that there is no way out but straight on, as they are now being stalked by an unseen terror.
