Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal star as ill-fated lovers in this 1970s romantic drama based on Erich Segal's novel. Rich undergraduate Oliver Barrett (O'Neal) meets Jenny Cavilleri (MacGraw), the daughter of a poor Italian baker, and the two fall deeply in love. Even when Oliver is cut off by his wealthy family and must take a night job in order to finish college, the testing circumstances only serve to bring them closer together.
