I bought this because I'd been ill and have been very exhausted, and figured I would try it and see - I love it! It works great, it makes great soup by the dump-everything-in-overnight-on-low method, the insert is solid sturdy ceramic and easy to wash. It is not at all big, and it looks stylish on the counter. Takes a bit of rubbing with chalk and wiping to get the surface to hold chalk-writing well, but it does work if that's what you want (or else it's just a nice black finish you can leave be as it is). I definitely recommend it if you always wanted a slow cooker but didn't want to deal with the giant ones that are more common. This makes 4-5 generous portions of soup or stew, so not too tiny for a family either.
