His wife Frenchie (Tracey Ullman) provides cover by opening a cookie business in the vacant shop, and, oddly enough, when Ray's ambitious heist plans come to nothing, it is the cookie business which takes off and makes millionaires of them both. However, the downside to their new-found wealth is that through Frankie's inept attempts to better herself - which include hiring lounge lizard art dealer David (Hugh Grant) to decorate her apartment - she and Ray begin to grow apart.
