Santoro takes charge of the case, attempting to track down Julia Costello (Carla Gugino), an attractive young woman who talked to Kirkland just before he was shot. Julia, wounded in the shooting, has taken refuge in a casino, but when Santoro interrogates her he discovers some disturbing facts.
