British noir thriller. Ex-RAF pilot Clem Morgan (Trevor Howard) teams up with a gang of criminals, but is framed by his colleagues when the getaway car he's riding in knocks down and kills a policeman trying to stop their escape. After being sent to jail, he manages to escape, and is soon on his way to London to finally confront the gang and prove his innocence to the police who are in hot pursuit.
