In 'Village of the Damned' (1960), the sudden and temporary paralysis of a small English hamlet, which is followed by the town's women becoming mysteriously pregnant. The spawn of this occurrence are a dozen eerie, blonde-haired children, who are either gifted, evil, or 'the world's people'. In 'Children of the Damned' (1963), scientists discover that there are five children who each have enormous intelligence. The children are flown to London to be studied, but they escape the laboratory and gather in a church.
