Aura came believing that this country was somewhat free from corruption and graft. She turned out to be wrong.




Sweden has an outlawed working life where people from poor countries work under slave-like conditions. A new type of criminality that the authorities cannot get a grip on. Exploitation is happening everywhere. People sleep inside car workshops, in the forest and on construction sites. A series of political decisions has created the so-called shadow society where hidden workers live in silence. In We, the shadows, these hidden people are given a face.




Elinor Torp is an author and journalist at Dagens Arbete. In 2010, she was awarded the Guldspaden for investigative journalism. We, the shadows was first published by Leopard Förlag in 2019, in 2021 Torp made her novel debut with the book Moderkakan.




Hanna Böhm, born 1995, is an illustrator and comic artist living and working in Stockholm. Her art explores the personal, the political and the overlap between them. She has drawn comics for, among others, Galago and Ottar, and is currently featured in a traveling/wandering exhibition for Seriefrämjandet.
