If Martin thinks the summer job at Vela Church will be boring, he is mistaken. He does his job but finds a number of objects much older than the church itself. Håkan Mattsson has previously written horror short stories, children's books and a humorous novel. Relic The Messenger of the Stars is his first thriller and the first part of the series about Martin and Lovisa.

Håkan works daily as a church caretaker and he finds much of his inspiration in these environments.

Churches are exciting places. There are lots of local legends to take part in and exciting inventories to discover in these fantastic environments. Countless life stories that have left their mark throughout history. I collect these and if inspiration strikes, I write. That's how Relic came about, and hopefully there will be more books eventually.
