Real estate agent Jim Evers (Murphy) is given the task of selling Gracey Manor, a dilapidated mansion in Orleans. Before he tries to find a buyer, he decides to visit the house with his family. When they arrive they are greeted by the owner Edward Gracey (Nathaniel Parker) and his butler Ramsley (Terence Stamp) who invite them in and offer them a bed for the night after the river floods leaving them trapped.
